American Flags and New York Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, August 24th in the state of New York in honor of Army Private 1st Class Douglas L. Cordo.

According to the office of the Governor:  Private 1st Class Douglas L. Cordo died of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.  He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

American Flags and Utah Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, August 22nd, in the state of Utah in honor of Information Systems Technician Petty Officer 1st Class (Expeditionary Warfare Specialist/Freefall Parachutist) Jared W. Day.

Petty Officer Day was killed on August 6, 2011, in Wardack Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.

Maryland Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, August 23rd, in memory of Former Maryland Delgate Kenneth L. Webster.  Delegate Webster served in the Maryland General Assembly from 1970 to 1978.

American Flags and Virginia Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, August 23rd in the county of Prince William, Virginia in honor of US Army Ranger Sergeant Alessandro L. Plutino.
