Pitt County Needs a New Flag and We Need Your Help to Redesign it!
Pitt County Government currently has an official flag, but it’s been around for a while and needs to be refreshed. That’s where you, the Pitt County citizen, come in! Pitt County Government is launching the Pitt County Flag Redesign Contest which starts today, February 1, and will run through March 12.
Pitt County designers, young and old, are encouraged to participate in the contest, which will ultimately lead to the Pitt County Board of Commissioners adopting a new flag. Participants will have the opportunity to make their mark on Pitt County history by submitting a full-color flag design that uses the Pitt County seal and/or logo, and follows the contest’s other rules of entry.
Are you an illustrator? Participate! Prefer graphic design software? Submit an entry! All designs are welcome, whether hand drawn or computer generated, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized at the April 16th Commissioners meeting.
Prizes
First place – $75
Second place – $50
Third place – $25
The 1st place winner will have his or her winning design created into a flag that will be flown in front of the County Office Building on 5th Street and used at official County events.
