Half-Staff Michigan State Flags – Honoring Todd Lambka
Monday, August 13th, 2012American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, August 15th in the state of Michigan in honor of 1st Lt. Todd Lambka.
According to the office of the governor:
1st Lt. Todd Lambka Aug. 1 from injuries sustained by an improvised explosive device in Paktikap province, Afghanistan.
Todd Lambka graduated in 2010 from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 28th Infantry Regiment in the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Infantry Division, in Fort Riley, Kansas. Lambka was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart posthumously. His other awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Parachutist Badge. He also received posthumously the Basic NATO Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.
