American Flags and Kentucky Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, October 10th in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in honor of US Army Sergeant First Class Aaron Henderson. SFC Henderson was serving with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group and died as a result of injuries suffered in combat in Afghanistan.

American Flags and New York Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, October 9th in the state of New York in honor of US Army Sergeant First Class Daniel Metcalfe.
According to the office of the governor:
Sgt. 1st Class Daniel T. Metcalfe died Sept. 29th of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team based at Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.
