Half-Staff Pennsylvania Flags – Honoring Jarett Yoder

American Flags and Pennsylvania Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, April 22nd at the Capitol Complex and in Berks County in honor of US Army Chief Warrant Officer Jarett Yoder.

According to the office of the governor:
Chief Warrant Officer Yoder was killed when his AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan. Yoder joined the military in 2005 and served with the 1-104th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion serving in Afghanistan since August 2012. He first served in Company C, 1st Battalion 111th Infantry, as an infantryman and was deployed in 2008 to Iraq with Company C and the rest of the 56th Stryker Brigade. He began his military aviation career in 2010, serving as an aviation life support equipment officer and Apache pilot.

Half-Staff Missouri Flags – Honoring Harold Hollingsworth

American Flags and Missouri Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, April 12th in Jackson and Lafayette Counties in honor of Harold Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth was an assistant chief with the Fort Osage Fire Protection District who died in the line of duty on April 7th. During his tenure with the district, Hollingsworth served as a firefighter, fire specialist, captain and assistant chief. He began his career in emergency services as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Lexington Fire Department in 1988.

American Flags and New Hampshire Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, April 10th in New Hampshire in honor of the 50th anniversary of the loss of the USS Thresher.

According to the office of the governor:
“The loss of the USS Thresher, which was designed, built, and commissioned at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, was a tragedy for the Navy, our Nation, and especially for the families of her honorable crew,” Governor Hassan said. “As we mark 50 years since that tragic day, our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of those 129 gallant souls, whose sacrifice we can never truly repay.”

American Flags and Kentucky Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday, April 6th in honor of US Army Sgt. Michael Cable.

According to the office of the governor:
US Army Sgt. Michael C. Cable died March 27, from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by enemy forces in Shinwar District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.

Half-Staff Missouri Flags – Honoring Thomas Clements

Friday, April 5th, 2013

American Flags and Missouri Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, April 5th in Boone County and at all Dept. of Corrections facilities statewide in honor of Thomas Clements.

Clements was the former director of the Division of Adult Institutions in the Department of Corrections, and a 31-year veteran of the department. He was serving as the executive director of the Colorado Department of Corrections at the time of his death on March 19.
