American Flags and Oregon Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday, August 25th in the state of Oregon in honor of US Army Private First Class Andrew Keller.

According to the office of the governor:
PFC Keller died August 15th, in Charkh, Afghanistan when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy.

American Flags and California Flags to fly at half-staff August 22nd in the state of California in honor of US Marine Cpl Richard Rivera Jr.

According to the office of the governor:
Cpl. Richard A. Rivera Jr. died August 10, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Rivera was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. His parent command was 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force in Kaneohe Bay, HI. He was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Maryland Flags to fly at half-staff beginning Tuesday, August 21st in the state of Maryland in honor of Police Officer Adrian Morris. Officer Morris was a member of the Prince George’s County Police Department who died in the line of duty. State flags will remain at half-staff through the day of interment for Officer Morris.

UPDATE: Flags will remain at half-staff for Officer Morris through Tuesday, August 28th.

Alaska State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, August 17th in honor of former State Representative Dr. Michael Beirne.

According to the office of the governor:
Beirne served one term in the Legislature after being elected in 1967. He was later appointed to the seat vacated by Anchorage Representative Tom Fink in 1975. Beirne was re-elected to that seat and served until 1981. Among his many accomplishments, Beirne established the first Blood Bank of Alaska and was the founder of the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center.
