Maryland Flags to fly at half-staff beginning Tuesday, August 21st in the state of Maryland in honor of Police Officer Adrian Morris. Officer Morris was a member of the Prince George’s County Police Department who died in the line of duty. State flags will remain at half-staff through the day of interment for Officer Morris.

American Flags and Wyoming Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, August 21st in the state of Wyoming in honor of US Army Command Sergeant Major Kevin Griffin. CSM Griffin was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 8th.
Alaska State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, August 17th in honor of former State Representative Dr. Michael Beirne.
According to the office of the governor:
Beirne served one term in the Legislature after being elected in 1967. He was later appointed to the seat vacated by Anchorage Representative Tom Fink in 1975. Beirne was re-elected to that seat and served until 1981. Among his many accomplishments, Beirne established the first Blood Bank of Alaska and was the founder of the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center.

North Carolina State Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, August 16th through Friday, August 17th in the state of NC in honor of Rep. Larry Brown of Forsyth County. Rep. Brown represented his district for four terms in the N.C. House of Representatives.
American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, August 17th through Saturday, August 18th in the state of Michigan in honor of former state Representative William Jowett. Bill Jowett served 14 years in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Alaska State Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, August 15th in honor of former State Senator Al Adams.
According to the office of the governor:
Al Adams served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1981 – 1988 and in the Alaska Senate from 1989 – 2000. Adams served as president of Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation; executive vice president of NANA Regional Corporation; member of the Alaska Native Claims Appeals Board; and director of rural development for the Alaska Department of Community and Regional Affairs. Adams also served on the First Alaskans Institute Board of Trustees.
