According to the office of the governor:
US Army Pfc Jarrod Lallier died June 18 in Afghanistan of injuries he sustained when his patrol received small arms fire.

Half-Staff Kansas State Flags – Honoring Michael Knapp

American Flags and Kansas Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, July 3rd in the state of Kansas in honor of US Army Sergeant Michael Knapp.

According to the office of the governor:
Sgt. Michael Knapp died on Friday, May 18 while serving with the 1st Battalion Air Assault unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Sgt. Knapp was on his third tour in Afghanistan. Knapp was a member of the 1st Battalion (Air Assault), 377th Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Fires Brigade based out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Maine Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, June 27th in the town of Gorham, ME in honor of Durward Benjamin Worster.

According to the office of the governor:
Durward Benjamin ‘Ben’ Worster attended Gorham High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the military, and was stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. A superior shot, he became a decorated Army Sniper as a Team Leader 1st Platoon, 2nd Quad, 2-5 1st Calvary during his tour in Iraq, and he was awarded numerous honors and medals, including the Army Commendation Medal, distinction from the U.S. Army Sniper School and Advanced Marksmanship and Sniper Operations, as well as holding expert military qualifications in 11 different weapons systems. Upon receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, Worster became a part of another distinguished brotherhood as on officer of the Maine Correctional Center in Windham

Maine Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, June 27th in the town of Hollis, ME in honor of Hollis Fire Department Chief George Davis.

According to the office of the governor:
Fire Chief George Davis joined the Goodwin’s Mills Fire and Rescue in July 1983. He served as Deputy Chief from 2002 until 2004. He was also full time as a Fire Marshal in the Sanford Fire Department and a Maine State Fire Instructor. In 2005 Davis was named Chief of the Hollis Fire and Rescue Department, a position, he currently held. He was a member and Past President of the York County Fire Chief’s Association.

American Flags and Minnesota Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, June 25th in the state of Minnesota in honor of US Marine Corporal Taylor Baune.

According to the office of the governor:
Corporal Taylor J. Baune died while carrying out combat missions in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Corporal Baune was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force. Corporal Taylor J. Baune was an exemplary Marine, and has the distinction of being awarded the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan.

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, June 26th in the state of Michigan in honor of US Army Sgt. Joseph Lilly.

According to the office of the governor:
Sgt. Lilly died June 14 of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 18th Engineer Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. Lilly was deployed to Iraq from July 2009 through August 2010, and was serving his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.
