The flag of Andorra, adopted in 1866, consists of three vertical bars of equal dimension: blue, yellow, and red, left to right. In the center of the yellow stripe lies the coat of arms. Interestingly, there are two different versions of the coat of arms: a Spanish version has a mitre on a blue field with yellow cows on a red background facing right, and a French version has a mitre on a white field with red cows on yellow facing left. The different versions are due to the political situation in the country. |
