The flag of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas is comprised of three alternating horizontal blue and yellow stripes of equal dimension, with yellow in the middle. An equilateral black triangle originates along the left side of the flag, whose third point ends in the middle of the yellow stripe. Adopted in 1973, the colors of the Bahamian flag are said to represent the sandy beaches and aquamarine water of the islands and the power and strength of its people. |
