Costa Rica’s flag is three-colored and made up of five horizontal stripes. The stripes along the top and bottom are blue, each making up one-sixth of the total height of the flag. Beside each blue stripe is an equally sized white stripe. In the center is a wider red stripe that is twice the size of each blue and white stripe. The Costa Rican flag was adopted in 1906. |
