Adopted in 1977, the flag of Djibouti consists of two stripes of equal proportion with light blue on the top and pale green on the bottom. A white isosceles triangle stretches along the hoist and extends almost halfway to the fly. A five-pointed red star, symbolizing unity, floats in the center of the white triangle (peace). The blue and green represent the sea and earth respectively. |
