The dark blue Alaskan flag was originally created in 1927 by thirteen year old John Bell Benson who submitted his design as part of a state-wide contest. Young Bensons' flag beat out 142 other entrants, most of which are on display at the Alaska Historical Library & Museum. The beautiful Alaska state flag contains eight gold stars, seven of which form the Big Dipper and the eighth is representative of the North Star. All Star Flags has the Alaska state flag for sale in several different sizes. |
