The flag of Brunei, adopted in 1959, is made up of a white stripe and a slightly thinner black stripe running diagonally across the flag, from top left to bottom right. The diagonals create two yellow trapezoids in the lower left and upper right quadrants. Floating in the center of the flag is the Brunei coat of arms in red along with the words â€œAlways Render Service with Godâ€™s Guidanceâ€ and â€œBrunei, the abode of peaceâ€ in Arabic script.
